When you visit BetterPlace for the first time, you will speak to our in-house clinical psychologists who will take a detailed case history and understand your chief complaints. The psychologist will then discuss your case with our psychiatrist who will share a diagnosis and recommend the appropriate assessments and treatment plans.
Our preferred approach is for you to meet both as bipolar disorder care often combines medication and therapy. Our goal is to have you recover faster, and stay well. Psychiatrists help with mood-stabilizing treatments, while psychologists guide you in managing emotional triggers and developing coping strategies. If needed, you can choose to meet just one, but working with both will support your recovery and long-term stability more effectively.
No, in the first session, we will thoroughly understand your case, experiences, mood patterns, and symptoms. From there our psychiatrists will diagnose you using the latest diagnostic tools, they will coordinate with the in-house psychologists to discuss a treatment plan, and only then your treatment will start.
If you notice your mood swings, energy levels, or behaviour are disrupting your daily life—such as affecting your relationships, work, or personal goals—it’s time to seek professional support. Extreme highs (mania) or lows (depression), rapid changes in mood, trouble sleeping, or difficulty concentrating may indicate the need for specialised care. Usually, if these symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks, it’s time to visit a mental health professional.
Our approach to bipolar disorder is to help you achieve long-term stability and relief, rather than temporary solutions. We identify your specific mood patterns and triggers through clinically proven assessments, designing an effective treatment plan. We also help you stay on track with your medication, therapy, and self-care with ongoing support, even if things feel overwhelming at times.

The BetterPlace clinic is open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and 9:00 am – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Friday
There’s no one-size-fits-all treatment in mental health – each person needs a unique treatment plan, so the recovery period can also differ. However, most patients start seeing significant improvement in their day-to-day functioning and quality of life within 2-3 weeks of treatment. In fact, for certain advanced psychiatric treatments like accelerated rTMS (for Depression, OCD and Addictions), patients can start seeing results in a few days.
Our psychiatrists and psychologists provide both online and offline consultancy. However, some specialised therapy techniques like relaxation therapy, rTMS or tDCS can only be administered in person, at our clinic.
