Long-term Insomnia Relief in less than 4 weeks

Is insomnia a mental health concern?

More than 60% cases of persistent insomnia have underlying psychological factors such as stress, anxiety, depression or certain other medical conditions. Effectively treating insomnia starts with accurately identifying the underlying causes.

How is your insomnia diagnosed?

Our Psychologists & Doctors (Sleep specialists) conduct thorough sleep assessments and, if needed, polysomnography (sleep study) to accurately diagnose your sleep issues and determine the root cause.

How is insomnia treated at BetterPlace?

Once we determine the root cause, our team of experts create a personalised treatment plan that may involve cognitive, relaxation and sleep therapy, medication, and lifestyle adjustments to effectively restore your sleep.

How soon does the treatment show effect?

Our treatments provide immediate symptomatic relief in the short-term and improve your overall sleep patterns within 4 weeks. The long term effectiveness of the sleep program depends on the continued treatment of the underlying causes.

Transformation Stories at BetterPlace!

Start your journey
I toh thought I would never sleep again

“I lived like a raja in my 20s (parties drinks etc etc) but I never never never expected it to effect me so much in my 30s. By 34 I was barely getting 3 hrs of sleep each day even tho I desprately wanted to sleep more. Last year it got so bad I went 3 days without sleep. Thats when my friend said come to better place. Dr Akul is my angel. She has got me a second life.”

Trauma kept me up at night

“For years, I feared going to bed due to relentless nightmares that woke me after just a few hours. I visited a few somnologists who told me everything in my body was working well there was nothing wrong. With the help of BetterPlace, i found out that i have unresolved past trauma I experienced. Therapy helped me confront my PTSD and develop coping techniques to reclaim my nights. Sleep is finally peaceful again.”

Adhiraj R.
I used to think perfectionism was my strength…

“I’ve always been a straight A’s type of student and a high achiever at work. However a lot of times I found myself focusing too much on a small detail and trying to get it perfect. I was taking time out of my personal life to fill the time wasted during work hours and it left me burnt out. I’d wake up tired and feeling very unproductive but finally, BetterPlace taught me ways to cope with my perfectionism and how to structure my thoughts when I’m feeling crippled by perfectionism.”

Frequently Asked Questions

When you visit BetterPlace for the first time, you will speak to our in-house clinical psychologists and psychiatrists, who will take a detailed case history and understand your chief complaints. The psychologist will then discuss your case with our psychiatrist, who will share a diagnosis and recommend the appropriate assessments and treatment plans.

Our preferred approach is for you to meet both because each treatment plan is a combination of psychotherapy and psychiatric services. Our goal is to have you recover faster, and stay well. However, you can meet just one of them too, if you wish to do so.

No, in the first session, we will thoroughly understand your case and symptoms. From there our psychiatrists will diagnose you using the latest diagnostic tools, they will coordinate with the in-house psychologists to discuss a treatment plan, and only then your treatment will start.

Common signs of a sleep disorder include trouble falling or staying asleep, feeling tired despite a full night’s sleep, loud snoring or gasping for air, excessive daytime sleepiness, and unusual movements like sleepwalking or talking in your sleep. Some other symptoms that can also point to poor sleep health are mood changes, irritability, and difficulty focusing can also point to poor sleep health.

If any of these symptoms sound familiar, you should consider visiting a somnologist (sleep doctor) or a psychologist.

Insomnia is a sleep disorder where you struggle to fall asleep, stay asleep, or wake up too early. It is often linked to stress or lifestyle habits and can be treated with psychological and psychiatric help.
Sleep apnea, on the other hand, involves repeated breathing interruptions during sleep, often causing loud snoring and daytime fatigue.

Both can leave you feeling exhausted in your wakeful times, reducing productivity and quality of life.

Polysomnography, also known as a sleep study, is a non-invasive test that monitors different body functions during sleep to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.

Polysomnography measures various body functions such as Brain waves, Breathing rate and effort, Eye movement, Heart rate, Oxygen levels in the blood and Body position.

Polysomnography gives a detailed insight into your sleeping patterns, habits, and what goes on in your brain and body while you sleep. This data helps us pinpoint issues and create a treatment plan that is not only personalised but also highly effective. A polysomnograph provides information such as:

  • Breath-by-breath waveforms
  • Short-term and long-term trends
  • Statistics and patterns of usage
  • Fully customizable and easily exportable reports

Polysomnography is just a tool to assess and diagnose your sleep problems. The real treatment happens after we accurately diagnose your condition. This usually includes a combination of medication (if required) and psychotherapy to understand the root cause of your sleep disorders and treat the root cause of the condition.

Our end goal is always to provide solutions that completely treat you and provide relief for a long time.

The BetterPlace clinic is open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and 9:00 am – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Friday

Your first 90-minute session at BetterPlace costs INR 2,000. You can call us on +91 9773996890 to book an appointment or if you need any further details.

Sleep medication is useful in the short term however, it isn’t generally prescribed for the long term due to its risks of dependence and tolerance. Consult your psychiatrist or somnologist (sleep doctor) before using sleep medication for long periods, they can adjust your medication accordingly.

The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and treatment plan. Your clinician will discuss this with you during your first appointment.

Typically 1-2 therapy sessions are prescribed per week.

A therapist provides counselling and support for mental health concerns. A psychologist holds a doctoral degree in psychology and may conduct therapy and psychological assessments. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication for mental health conditions.

Our psychiatrists and psychologists provide both online and offline consultancy. However, some specialised therapy techniques like relaxation therapy, rTMS or tDCS can only be administered in person, at our clinic.
