Your Child's Mental Health Needs Its Own Approach

I've worked with a lot of children over the years, and one thing stays the same, they open up when they feel safe, not when they feel pushed.

4 Things You Should Know Before Trusting Us With Your Child's Mental Health

You Get All Your Child's Care in One Place

Getting a struggling child to one appointment is hard enough, let alone shuttling between separate clinics for psychiatry, therapy and assessments. Every new place means a new waiting room, a stranger to warm up to. We bring it all under one roof, so your child doesn't start over each time.

You Get a Second Opinion Built In

Your child's treatment is guided not only by their psychiatrist or therapist, but also by our senior clinical team with over 40 years of experience. They supervise every aspect of your child's care plan, so you get the benefit of an in-built second opinion.

You and Your Family Are Part of the Plan

You know your child best, so you're involved in every decision we make, not just informed after the fact. Where it helps, we bring family sessions into the plan too, because a child's mental health rarely exists in isolation from home.

Your Child's Care Evolves as they Grow

Children grow very quickly, physically and mentally. A plan that works for your child today might not work for them after a year. We regularly measure progress against clear goals and adjust their treatment plan along the way, so it can keep pace with your child, and not the other way around.

This is What Your Child's First Session Will Look Like

You & Your Child Meet 2 Experts for 90 Mins

In your first appointment, you will meet both, a clinical psychologist and a psychiatrist to understand your child's symptoms, history, and mental health needs.

You Get Clarity on What’s Going On

From the assessments, we'll identify the exact root cause of what your child is experiencing, rather than just looking at the surface behaviour.

You Get a Plan Made for Your Child

Your child gets a treatment plan built around their age, personality and daily life, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Support Continues as They Grow

From here, you'll have ongoing support with regular follow-ups and progress checks, so you're never left managing things on your own.

“I used to think not sleeping well was just part of life. I had gotten so used to 4-5 hours of sleep that I didn’t even think it was causing me any harm internally. But after coming to Better Place I realised just how bad the quality of my sleep was, and that I was actually suffering from a sleep disorder. Dr Siddharth has changed the way I look at sleep and after going through lots of therapy I am now able to get a good 6-7 hours of sleep each day, sometimes even 8. I had no idea how much better life could be with good sleep!”

“Depression felt like an endless tunnel with no way out. But from my first session at BetterPlace, I felt heard and understood. Dr. Akul and my therapist Ayushi were compassionate in their approach and guided me through every step of the way. They gave me the strength to keep moving forward.”

“My mood swings used to control my life. One day I’d be on top of the world, and the next one I couldn’t even get out of bed. BetterPlace helped me ride the emotional waves instead of drowning in them. Life is not perfect, but I’m finally learning to balance it”

“I never realised how much OCD was affecting my life until I got help. I used to think I was just being a perfectionist. I’d keep overcorrecting my work, every small mistake was impossible to ignore, even what wasnt a mistake but felt like it was also too hard to ignore. Now, I’ve learned tools that actually work, and I’m finally finding peace. Seriously, reaching out was the best decision I’ve made.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Not right away. In your first session, we’ll focus on understanding you—your concerns, thought patterns, emotional experiences, and any challenges you’ve been facing. Our psychologists and psychiatrists work together to carry out a thorough assessment, using the latest tools and clinical insights. Based on this, we’ll design a personalised treatment plan that’s right for you. Your actual treatment will begin after this in-depth evaluation, so we can make sure it’s truly tailored to your needs.

If your thoughts, emotions, or behaviours are starting to interfere with your daily life—whether it’s your relationships, work, sleep, or ability to focus—it’s a good idea to speak to a professional. You don’t need to wait for things to get worse. Feeling persistently low, overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in certain patterns, or simply not like yourself are all valid reasons to reach out. Getting support early can make a real difference.

Our approach is focused on long-term healing and meaningful change, not just quick fixes. We take the time to understand your unique experiences—your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and what might be triggering distress. Using evidence-based assessments, we develop a personalised treatment plan that may include therapy, medication, or a combination of both. Throughout the process, we offer consistent support to help you build resilience, develop healthier patterns, and stay on track even when things feel challenging.

Therapy sessions are 100% confidential and there is 0% judgement. The therapist will never share the details of your case with any professional who is not part of your treatment plan.

Yes, you’re welcome to bring a family member or friend for support during your appointments if you’d like.

The BetterPlace clinic is open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday through Saturday.

Your first conversation with our psychologist will last around 45 minutes as it involves a detailed discussion about your needs, goals and history. A typical conversation with a psychiatrist could last anywhere between 15-20 mins, and on-going therapy sessions typically last 45-60 minutes, depending on your treatment plan and clinician’s recommendation.

There’s no one-size-fits-all treatment in mental health – each person needs a unique treatment plan, so the recovery period can also differ. However, most patients start seeing significant improvement in their day-to-day functioning and quality of life within 2-3 weeks of treatment. In fact, for certain advanced psychiatric treatments like accelerated rTMS (for Depression, OCD and Addictions), patients can start seeing results in a few days.

The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and treatment plan. Your clinician will discuss this with you during your first appointment.

Our psychiatrists and psychologists provide both online and offline consultancy. However, some specialised therapy techniques like relaxation therapy, rTMS or tDCS can only be administered in person, at our clinic.
