When you visit BetterPlace for the first time, you will speak to our in-house clinical psychologists who will take a detailed case history and understand your chief complaints. The psychologist will then discuss your case with our psychiatrist who will share a diagnosis and recommend the appropriate assessments and treatment plans.
Our approach is for you to meet both, as OCD treatment often combines therapy and medication. Psychiatrists can help manage obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours with medications, while psychologists guide you in understanding triggers and learning effective coping strategies. If you prefer, you can meet just one, but working with both can support faster recovery and long-term progress.
No, in the first session, we’ll take the time to fully understand your experiences, obsessive thoughts, compulsions, and triggers. Our psychiatrists will use the latest diagnostic tools to evaluate your condition and work closely with in-house psychologists to design a personalised treatment plan. Your treatment will begin after this thorough evaluation to ensure it’s tailored to your needs.
If constantly thinking about something (obsessive thoughts) or feeling the need to do the same thing repeatedly (compulsive behaviours) is disrupting your daily life—such as affecting your relationships, work, or ability to focus—it’s time to seek professional support. Repeated intrusive thoughts, rituals that take up hours of your day, or feelings of distress when you can’t complete a compulsion may indicate that you need specialised care.
Our approach to OCD focuses on helping you achieve long-term relief and control, rather than temporary solutions. We work to understand your specific triggers, obsessive thoughts, and compulsive behaviours through proven assessments, and creating a personalised treatment plan. With ongoing support, we help you stay consistent with therapy, self-care, and strategies to manage symptoms, even when things feel overwhelming.
Yes, during regular working hours, you can call our front desk at +91 977 399 6888, and they will connect you with the doctor handling your case.

The BetterPlace clinic is open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and 9:00 am – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Friday
There’s no one-size-fits-all treatment in mental health – each person needs a unique treatment plan, so the recovery period can also differ. However, most patients start seeing significant improvement in their day-to-day functioning and quality of life within 2-3 weeks of treatment. In fact, for certain advanced psychiatric treatments like accelerated rTMS (for Depression, OCD and Addictions), patients can start seeing results in a few days.
Our psychiatrists and psychologists provide both online and offline consultancy. However, some specialised therapy techniques like relaxation therapy, rTMS or tDCS can only be administered in person, at our clinic.
